With over a decade of classroom experience as a secondary English teacher, Department Lead, and active GCSE examiner, I’ve seen firsthand where students lose marks. It’s rarely a lack of talent; usually, they just haven’t been taught how to decode the exam paper.

I launched Step Ahead Tutoring to fix that.

Through my online Group Mastery and 1-to-1 programmes, I strip away the fluff and give teenagers the exact frameworks, vocabulary, and confidence they need to excel.

Yes – As a current teacher I provide expert tuition tailored to all the major UK exam boards including AQA, Edexcel,OCR and Eduqas. Each lesson is aligned with the specific requirements and mark schemes of your child’s exam board.

Can I join a group session and still get personal feedback?

Absolutely. My small group sessions (max 6 students) ensure everyone gets personalised feedback, while benefiting from group discussion and collaborative learning. You'll also receive tailored homework and individual progress reports.

What age groups do you teach?

Prices vary depending on whether you're booking 1-to-1 tuition or group lessons. Group sessions start from £15 per hour, and private 1 to 1 lessons start from £40 per hour.
